Nicolae Densusianu Dacia Preistorica PDF Download

If you are interested in the ancient history of Romania and the origins of the Romanian people, you might want to download the PDF version of Nicolae Densusianu's monumental work, Dacia Preistorica (Prehistoric Dacia). This book, first published in 1913, is considered by some to be the "Bible of the Romanians", as it reveals a glorious and mysterious past of the Dacians, the ancestors of the modern Romanians.

Nicolae Densusianu (1846-1911) was a Romanian historian, linguist, and folklorist, who devoted his life to the study of the ancient history of Romania. He was also a librarian at the General Staff of the Romanian Army. He spent more than 40 years researching and writing his magnum opus, Dacia Preistorica, which he finished shortly before his death. The book was published posthumously in 1913, with a preface by Dr. C. I. Istrati.

Dacia Preistorica is a monumental work of more than 1000 pages, divided into six parts: I. The Origin and Evolution of the Pelasgian Race; II. The Pelasgian Civilization in Europe and Asia; III. The Pelasgian Religion; IV. The Pelasgian Language; V. The History of Dacia from the Earliest Times to the Roman Conquest; VI. The History of Dacia under Roman Rule and after its Abandonment. The book covers a vast period of time, from the Paleolithic to the Middle Ages, and presents a comprehensive and original view of the history and culture of the Dacians and their Pelasgian ancestors.

Densusianu based his arguments on a variety of sources, such as ancient texts, archaeological findings, linguistic analysis, folklore, mythology, astronomy, and comparative religion. He claimed that the Dacians were the oldest and most civilized people in Europe, and that they had a profound influence on the development of other European nations. He also argued that the Dacians were the true descendants of the ancient Romans, and that their language was the original Latin. He supported his claims with numerous examples of similarities between Romanian and Latin words, as well as between Romanian and ancient Roman customs, laws, institutions, and beliefs.

The book was received with mixed reactions by the public and the academic world. Some praised it as a masterpiece of erudition and patriotism, while others criticized it as a work of fantasy and nationalism. The book was banned by various regimes in Romania, either communist, fascist, royalist, or democratic. It was only reprinted twice after its first edition: once in 1986, in a luxury edition inaccessible during Ceausescu's dictatorship, and once in 2002, by Obiectiv Publishing House. No Romanian government has ever taken an official position to promote this book or to acknowledge its value.
